ANTI-DISCRIMINATION & SAFEGUARDING POLICY
A Safe, Respectful Regatta for Everyone
At Varese 2027, we firmly condemn and prohibit all forms of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or offensive conduct based on gender identity, sexual orientation, age, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, personal beliefs, disability, or any other individual characteristic. Such conduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
We operate under four non-negotiable principles:
- Respect: Ensuring that every competitor, official, volunteer, and guest is treated with dignity, fairness, and impartiality.
- Inclusion: Fostering an open, universally accessible, and welcoming regatta environment.
- Collaboration: Encouraging transparent dialogue, attentive listening, and mutual support across all delegations.
- Accountability: Empowering every participant to uphold a respectful community standard, supported by the Organising Committee’s commitment to impartial, transparent incident resolution.
Reporting & Safeguarding Protocol
Any incident of discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behaviour must be reported promptly to our dedicated safeguarding team:
Every report is reviewed confidentially by our Safeguarding Officer, who conducts a thorough inquiry and hears all parties involved. If a complaint is substantiated, the Organising Committee will enact proportional disciplinary actions, including:
- Formal written warning.
- Temporary or permanent revocation of accreditation and removal from the regatta venue.
- Referral to law enforcement or competent civil authorities where actions violate applicable laws.
If the reported conduct involves a registered competitor or official club representative, the relevant club delegate or national rowing federation will be notified immediately, without prejudice to the Organising Committee’s authority to execute immediate protective measures on-site.
